Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect?
Expect a warm greeting, directions for where to go, the public reading of Scripture, reverent musical worship, and a substantial sermon from God’s Word.
What about my children?
Sunday School is available at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. During the two AM worship services, children begin in the auditorium with their parents, but are dismissed before the sermon for Kid’s Church with teaching children at their level (3 yrs - 3rd grade). Each of our classes are staffed by trained and screened volunteers.
What about my younger children?
Nursery services are available for all Sunday morning activities.
How should I dress?
Our chief concern is that you come, not what you wear when you do! While our pastors are typically a little more dressed up, others opt for a “business casual” or even a casual style. In other words, jeans and ties are both welcome!
Why the name 'Lakewood'?
Pastor Dave and Emiley chose Lakewood in order to communicate that we are a church with a heart for our community, i.e. Waukesha County's “Lake Country.”
What does 'Baptist' mean?
Lakewood is not a part of any baptist denomination or alliance; rather, our baptist name is intended to simply identify us with beliefs that are historically baptist — such as the Bible as our sole authority, the necessity of believer's baptism by immersion, the conviction that churches should be self-governing, etc.
