What happens in a Worship Service?

  • You noticed that we have multiple worship services. Each service is identical. We have multiple so that everyone can find a seat.

  • We sing in our worship services. Our singing is a mixture of historical hymns and modern songs. Our focus is on congregational singing so that everyone can participate in songs of worship and mutual encouragement.

  • We listen to God’s Word. The majority of our service (45 minutes) is hearing from God’s word. A pastor will explain what the scriptural text means and how to make application in our context and cultural. Most of the time we work through a book of the Bible week by week. That allows us to understand the whole message of the Bible.

What Should I Wear?

Attenders and pastors at Lakewood wear a variety of styles and fashions. Some are comfortable in casual dress while others may choose business casual. There is no dress code. All are welcome.

What about Children?

  • First and foremost, we love children. Lakewood is a family church that has a multitude of children of all ages.

  • Guests always have the option of what is best for their children. If you would like to keep them with you during the service, you are welcome to do so. If they are young, we have special seating areas where you can easily slip out of the back door if they cry. Then you can watch the service on monitors with your child.

  • We also have nurseries and classes for all ages. Leading each class are trained individuals who will provide a safe, loving environment for your child to enjoy and make friends. More information on the children’s ministry can be found here.
